Breadsticks and Jesus

A few of the youth who attend 71Five Campus in Gold Hill also attend the worship services at the church where our youth group (club) meets. A while back, one of the boys from club was at church with his grandpa. After the service, there was an extended meeting of which his grandfather was a part. Instead of leaving the boy to hours of boredom, I seized the opportunity to invite him to lunch. As we sat and talked over some pizza and cinnamon breadsticks, he began to tell me part of his story. He opened up about difficult family situations filled with abandonment and brokenness. By the grace of God, I was able to share with him a relationship with God is the building block on which every other healthy relationship is built. On the walk back to the church he said, “I am glad I get to go to club.” To me, this was a great testimony to how God is using you (and me) through 71Five to reach into the hearts and lives of the lost and hurting youth in our community.

Thank you for praying and supporting these kids who return to 71Five week after week to hear that a life with Jesus is a life filled with hope.
