As a young boy I was introduced to God via the Catholic Church by way of family tradition at becoming an altar boy and later on becoming a reader of scripture during Sunday Service. I admit I did not understand much of what I was reading but it was the sense of the Holy spirit.

 

That lit up my belief in Jesus Christ, My God, My Savior. After graduation and a tour in the United States Marine Corps, I found myself searching for Christ once again, not just for myself but because of a belief that it was the most important thing for me to do for family and children, again not really understanding the significance of what i was doing, going on blind faith I kept feeling there was more to it than just going to church on Sundays. After several years of searching in the means of employment services to the public as a manager in the welfare department for many years, Insurance agent, Disaster case manager, general contractor, all of these jobs were rewarding to help others, but I was still missing something, my trips to the mountains, lakes and oceans and even other countries still left me feeling unaccomplished.

 

I was in my mid 40s when I realized after significant loss that I needed to completely surrender to God, to find my new faith and humble myself to praise Jesus for all my accomplishments and not myself. I prayed for a faith based job for over six years, I wondered between christian Churches that felt more empowering, reading the bible with purpose to understand. God has answered my prayers! Not only do I have a loving family of believers, I also have an amazing job in the influence of our younger generation by bringing them closer to the lord our god by means of skilled working trades introduction courses. As a VoTech Coordinator for 71Five I now have the freedom to do gods work with praise and glory to him.
