71Five Intern
Arabella Smith is an Intern at Youth 71Five Ministries. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia and raised in Santa Cruz, she moved to Medford in June 2025. Arabella is currently an undergraduate student at Southern Oregon University. She is studying Communications with certifications in Conflict De-Escalation in addition to Theatre and Arts Management.
As a military child that called both American coasts her home, she found Jesus to provide her much needed stability through regular transitions. Arabella was raised a Christian, but stepped away from the Lord during a time of hardship. She came back, at twenty-one, due to the seeds that were planted during her time in youth ministry.
Arabella first connected with Youth 71Five Ministries through a desire to prevent adult crimes by intervening in childhood; “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6, KJV. Her educational goal is to gain a PhD in Sociology with study focused on the significance of faith in both young and transient communities.
As an Intern, Arabella works under the supervision of Beau Jeska, the 71Five Operations Director and Intern Lead, and with the mentorship of Sara Vassallo, Central Point Campus Coordinator and Intern Advisor.
In her free-time, Arabella enjoys reading, attending theatre productions, and outdoor activities such as snowboarding, watersports and hiking.
