71Five City Coordinator – West Medford
I feel so blessed to be serving as the West Medford City Coordinator. I gave my life to Jesus at age 5, and He became my only source of strength as I grew up. He transformed me from the quiet kid hiding in the corner fearful and withdrawn into someone learning to walk confidently in who He created me to be. I was raised by my grandparents up on a hill, happiest when I was alone with my animals. In high school, I began to step out of my shell, even running for Rodeo Queen, and from there my confidence in the Lord’s calling continued to grow.
After graduation, I moved back to the Rogue Valley and got involved in youth ministry and church camps experiences that, looking back, were God’s way of preparing me for 71Five.
Before joining 71Five, I worked in a local ER and thought I would be there forever. I loved the laughs, the adrenaline, the long nights, even through the heartbreak that left a lasting mark on me. Working there opened my eyes to the struggles of our community, grief, abuse, neglect, addiction, and I saw how much of it traced back to one thing: a loss of hope. When my position was cut, I felt like I lost hope too. I wondered if I’d ever again be able to help people in the way God had called me to. For months I felt aimless, until one day I found myself crying and praying, “Lord, I want to do Your work somewhere I can see You at work. And give me chaos.” The very next day, God brought 71Five back to my heart.
Now here I am, serving the youth in the heart of Medford. Chaos, yes, but more importantly, the chance to witness God at work in the lives of youth and their families.
