71Five Grants Coordinator

I grew up going to church and started walking with Jesus in middle school. For many years after, I tried to take in as many pleasures of the world as I could, while also trying to please God. It was exhausting. After I had my daughter, I realized I needed God’s help to navigate parenthood. I started seeking more of a relationship with God. The more time I spent with God, the more He was leading me to serve. Over the last 10 years, I have volunteered in various ministries working with ages 2-19 building trusting relationships while leading them towards God’s hope.

I have been on staff with 71Five as the Parent Coordinator for over 2 years. It has been incredible coming alongside the teen parents, advocating for them, and showing them God’s love, but I have recently had growing excitement for the world of grants. My parents met at 71Five (formerly Youth for Christ- Campus Life) in the early 1970s, where they came to know Jesus. I started attending in the 1990s, and now my daughter is involved. 71Five has had a 50-year, 3-generational impact on my family! 71Five is continuing to have that same lasting impact on young lives, and I am passionate about sharing with others what we are doing in Southern Oregon in the form of writing.
